32650 LiFePO4 Cell Specs: Typical Parameters and Cell Comparison

The 32650 is a cylindrical LiFePO4 cell size code: 32 mm diameter, 65 mm height. It is a common cell in solar garden lights, flashlights, and jump starters. This page gives its typical specs, then puts it side by side with 18650, 21700 and prismatic cells so you can read a cell spec sheet with confidence.

Typical 32650 parameters

ItemTypical value
Nominal voltage3.2V
Charge cut-off voltage3.65V
Discharge cut-off voltage2.5V
Rated capacity5500-6500mAh (6000mAh common)
Energy~18-21Wh
Cycle lifePer maker's datasheet; our Grade-A cells are rated 6,000-8,000 cycles

These are mainstream market ranges. Formulations and processes vary between makers — always confirm against the datasheet and grading report when sourcing.

Naming rule: the number is the size

32650: 32 mm diameter, 65 mm height. 32700: 32 mm diameter, 70 mm height, slightly higher capacity. 18650: 18 mm diameter, 65 mm height, LiFePO4 version commonly 1100-1600mAh. 21700: 21 mm diameter, 70 mm height. Read the model and you can calculate the cell size.

Where 32650 fits

A single cell is only 3.2V — a 48V system needs 15+ in series, with many cells and high demands on consistency and welding quality. Once large prismatic cells (280Ah, 314Ah) matured, home and C&I storage largely moved to prismatic: simpler to build, fewer connection points. The 32650's main turf today: solar garden lights, flashlights, jump starters, small backup power.

What to check when buying 32650 cells

  1. Grading report: capacity consistency and internal-resistance distribution matter more than the nominal label.
  2. Grade-A or not: brand-new Grade-A versus second-life / Grade-B has a large price gap. Verify grading data on acceptance — see our Grade-A vs Grade-B guide.
  3. Transport qualification: can they provide a UN38.3 report? Mandatory for export.
